To discuss your extension with the IRS, call (800) 829-4933 and have the following information ready in hand.

• Submission id- It is the unique twenty-digit identity number of your tax return transmitted electronically.
• Electronic postmark- It is the actual date and time (as per your timezone) when the extension is electronically transmitted to the IRS.
