California automatically grants business tax extension when there are no taxes due, and you don't need to file a separate form for the extension. If your business owes taxes, pay the tax due on or before the California business tax filing deadline to get a 6-month extension.
Due date and Penalty
The due date to pay business income tax and filing the tax return/extension is March 16, 2020. In case of late filings, you will incur the penalty for unpaid tax dues as well as for late filings.
Payment of tax dues
You can choose to make a payment either by Check/Money Order or use the electronic payment options that are available. To make payment in Check or Money Order, use the Automatic Extension form applicable for your business
