I need to file an extension for my LLC. Do I need to file a business tax extension or a personal tax extension form?

It depends on what type of LLC you have. 

• File business tax extension Form 7004 if you are a Multi-member LLC classified as a “partnership” or “corporation.
• On the other hand, file a personal tax extension Form 4868 if you are a Single-member LLC classified as a "disregarded entity (Sole Proprietorship).”  

Either of these forms will provide a 6-month automatic extension to file your income tax returns.
