The IRS rejected my extension because it was filed too late. Is there a way to see the exact time the extension was filed?

Yes! You can follow the steps below to view the exact time when you filed your return.

• Log in to your ExpressExtension account.
• Click the ‘View’ button next to the corresponding return.

• You'll land on the Return Summary page, where you can check the time when the return was transmitted.

If the electronic postmark is dated after the extension filing deadline, then the IRS rejection is valid. Whereas, if the electronic postmark is on or before the deadline, then the rejection is invalid, and you can re-transmit the return at no additional cost through ExpressExtension.
