Find answers to your questions.
I do not have a copy of my Prior Year PIN. How can I get the prior year PIN?

The Prior Year PIN is the PIN used to sign your previous year's tax return. If you don't remember it, you can still file for an extension by providing specific information to the IRS.

When e-filing Form 4868, the IRS will verify your identity by requesting your prior year's Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) and your prior year's Self-Select PIN. If you don't have your Self-Select PIN, you can substitute it with your prior year AGI, which you can find on line 11 of your Form 1040 from the previous year. If you didn't file a tax return last year, you can leave the Prior Year PIN field blank.
