An electronically transmitted return will NOT be considered complete (and therefore not considered filed) unless either:

Form 8453-TE is signed by an officer or person subject to tax, scanned into a PDF file, and transmitted with the return.

By signing the form, the taxpayer acknowledges that they have allowed the tax practitioner to electronically file the return on their behalf. Click here to learn how to upload Form 8453-TE with the client’s signature in ExpressExtension.
