Form 7004 due date will differ depending on the organization’s tax year. (Calendar tax year vs Fiscal tax year). And it also varies based on the return for which the 7004 extensions are being requested.
- S-corp, C-Corporation, and Entities with a tax year ending on December 31 (calendar tax year) are eligible for a 6-month extension using Form 7004.
- Other C-Corporation and Entities with a fiscal tax year ending on June 30 qualify for a 7-month extension using Form 7004.
- Certain filers of Form 1041 (Trust, and Estates) are eligible for an automatic 5½-month extension of time to file using Form 7004
