ExpressExtension Support

Find answers to your questions.
I e-filed my 7004 extensions, and the IRS rejected it. How much time do I have to correct it?

If your extension is rejected, you can correct and retransmit it up until the deadline date. However, if the rejection occurs close to the deadline, you’ll have 5 calendar days to make corrections and resubmit. This period is known as the Transmission Perfection Period, allowing you to fix errors on forms 7004, 8868, and 4868.

For example:

  • If you file your extension on March 3rd and it gets rejected, you have until March 17th (the due date) to correct and resubmit.
  • If you file on March 13th and it’s rejected, you have until March 18th to correct and retransmit
