Individuals residing in Maryland are not required to file a separate extension form if they owe zero Maryland tax and have a valid Federal tax extension (IRS Form 4868). You will automatically be granted a 6-month state extension of time to file a Maryland Income tax return.
If you owe additional state tax and need an extension of time to file, file a separate extension form on or before the actual due date of the return to get an extension of time to file a Maryland tax return.
Extension Form To Use
Form 502E, Application for Extension to File Personal Income Tax Return.

Does ExpressExtension support this State filing?
No, currently, we do not support this state filing. If you are looking for an e-file solution for Federal Form 4868, you can file your extension and get approval within minutes with ExpressExtension. Please Note: An extension to file doesn’t mean more time to pay, if you owe any tax due, make your tax payment by the original due date of your state return to avoid late payment penalties.
