Does ExpressExtension support this State filing?
The Utah tax extension is automatic. It means there is no official application or written request to submit.
Any Special Requirements?
An automatic extension of time to file is not an extension of time to pay. If you determine to owe tax, you need to meet the following Prepayment Requirements in order to be granted for a Utah tax extension — you must prepay by the original deadline (May 17):
• At least 90% of your Utah tax balance due for the current year; or
• 100% of your Utah tax liability for the prior year
If your Utah tax liability for the prior year was zero, or if you’re a first-time filer, then you are required to pay at least 90% of your current year’s Utah tax balance.
