The IRS rejected my extension for late filing. Can I find out the exact time it was submitted?

You can follow these steps to check the exact time your return was filed:

Step 1: Log in to your ExpressExtension account.

Step 2: Click the "View" button next to the corresponding return.

Step 3: You will land on the Return Summary page, where you can see the time your return was transmitted.

• If the electronic postmark is dated after the extension filing deadline, the IRS rejection is valid.
• If the electronic postmark is on or before the deadline, the rejection is invalid, and you can retransmit the return at no additional cost through ExpressExtension.
