Texas State does not have a separate income tax for businesses. But, the State imposes the Franchise Tax on businesses operating in Texas. Therefore, businesses can file a tax extension with the state department to request additional time to file the franchise tax with the state.

Extension Form to use

  • Form 05-164, Texas Franchise Tax Extension Request, gives an additional 3-months time to file the franchise tax with the state.
  • Form 05-064,  allow for a second extension that will extend your final filing deadline to additional 3 months.
