Once you’ve transmitted the return to the IRS, you cannot change any information in the form unless the IRS rejects the same. Upon rejection of your extension request by the IRS, you can fix the errors, go back to correct the information you need, and retransmit your extension form at no additional cost.

Note: As you cannot file corrections separately for the form you have already transmitted, you need to wait until the IRS updates the form’s status.

You can update the correct information in the rejected form by clicking the ‘Fix Errors’ option placed under the action column corresponding to your filed return, available in the dashboard.

So, we strongly recommend you review the summary of the information you provided to identify any errors before you submit them.
