I selected the debit/credit card option for paying my tax due. How should I proceed?

If you've chosen to make your IRS payment with a credit/debit card, follow these steps:

1. After transmitting your Form 4868 to the IRS, visit IRS Pay by Debit or Credit Card.

2. Select a payment processor.

3. Click the "Make A Payment" button.

4. Follow the steps to either pay by phone or online using one of the IRS-approved third-party service providers.

Once the payment is made, you will receive a confirmation number and a digital time stamp on your payment receipt.
