I have got a waiver from the e-help Desk to paper file my extension. How do I go about it?

To paper file your extension after receiving a waiver, generate the 'Rejection Package' letter from ExpressExtension and mail it to the IRS to avoid penalties.

Follow these steps:

1. Click on the "Rejected by the IRS" button for the rejected extension on your dashboard.

2. The 'Rejection Package' letter will include:

   • An explanation of why the paper return is being filed after the due date

   • A copy of the electronic rejection notification/acknowledgment

   • A brief history of actions taken to correct the electronic return

Note: Use this option only if the return's due date has passed and you filed the original extension before the due date.
