My personal tax extension was approved by the IRS. What is my extended due date?

If the IRS approves your extension, you generally have 6 months from the regular due date to file your income tax return. For most calendar year taxpayers, the extended tax return due date is October 15, 2025.

However, there may be exceptions for taxpayers living out of the country. For more information, see Publication 54.
